What do we say to our neighbors once we get tired of reciting talking points and walking by without a nod? Is there common ground anymore, if we look? These questions point towards what Old Truck Good Coffee was created to explore.
This week we are trying something new, a full conversation. You might even call it our first podcast. We do.
Joel and I spend 90 minutes talking to a smart and friendly Trump voter, Todd Johnson, about what we have in common, and why. Disagreements arise. Things are seen differently. We talk in some depth about “virtue signaling.” We talk about race. Instead of reacting, though, we all try to respond by continuing the search for common ground, mutual respect, and new ways to see our world.
